Following the release of data from the Environment Agency yesterday on Storm Overflows in 2023, it is clear that - while the abnormal rainfall has contributed to the figures - we must continue to hold water companies to account to protect our rivers.
Flooding is an important issue for Gagan and he has worked hard to help reduce and mitigate flooding in South West Hertfordshire. Today Gagan visited affected areas in Sarratt and Rickmansworth to assess the level of flooding and the impact that this has on the local community.
On 24th November, Gagan, joined by Nigel Gardner, the parliamentary candidate for Berkhamsted and Harpenden, visited Thames Water's Berkhamsted Sewage Treatment Works (STW) to gain insights into the ongoing upgrades aimed at enhancing sewage management to prevent flooding in the local area.
Gagan Mohindra was invited by Thames Water to visit their Sewage Treatment Plant in Chesham to learn more on how Thames Water are working to ensure water in South West Hertfordshire and the River Chess in particular remains at a high quality.
