June 2020: Getting Business Confidence Back

Throughout June I have been writing to Ministers, holding surgeries with concerned businesses and meeting up with community groups and representatives from the council to see how employers, shops and industry more generally have been coping during the pandemic and importantly, how they are adapting and getting ready to open back up to the public. We must guard against a second wave but without a strong economy it will be impossible to under take infrastructure and welfare spending that the Government has committed too. I've been out and about in the constituency buying produce from local shop keepers and stores that are open and enforcing sensible social distancing rules. The latest announcement from the Prime Minister means the guidelines will change again on the 4th July.
