Today in Parliament, I was in the chamber for the Report Stage of the Assisted Dying Bill — a deeply significant and sensitive debate that touches the lives, values, and beliefs of so many.
As the MP for South West Hertfordshire, I have been listening closely to the diverse and heartfelt views shared with me by constituents on this issue. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to write, email, or speak to me — your voices help shape my understanding and guide my role in these complex decisions.
This is not an easy debate, and it was a shame that the will of the House was not to have a greater breadth of contributions and amendments considered today, but this issue will be debated again in the coming months and I remain committed to representing our community with care, respect, and integrity.
