This morning I visited Breakspeare School, an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ SEND school, in Abbots Langley to hear about the challenges they’re facing.
Breakspeare School provides vital support for children with special educational needs, but their current site is outdated and not purpose-built. Delays to the planned move to a new site in Croxley Green are causing serious concern, not least for the pupils still waiting for the facilities they need.
The school is also calling for a safe crossing patrol on Gallows Hill Lane, something I believe should be urgently reconsidered.
As the former Governor of an SEND school, I am passionate about ensuring a quality education for all. I will continue to work with local councillors such as Vicky Edwards, Vishal Patel and Paula Hiscocks to push for progress on the new site, and the safety measures needed now.
