I'm appalled by the vandalism that occurred over the weekend at the Carpenders Park Lawn Cemetery and my thoughts are with the families affected.
This afternoon, I met with community leaders and visited the site with local police officers. We need to allow the authorities time to properly and fully investigate this criminal damage and to identify the perpetrators. I am in daily contact with Hertfordshire Constabulary and will continue to stay updated on this issue.
South West Hertfordshire has always had excellent community cohesion and I'm sure that will continue despite this incident.
