On 8th February, ‘The Court’, a Grade II-listed landmark in Chorleywood, was tragically burned down in mysterious circumstances.
I pressed the Deputy PM and Housing Secretary, Angela Rayner, to confirm that when listed buildings are lost, there should be a presumption that they are rebuilt brick-by-brick, just as we’ve seen in cases like the Carlton Tavern, the Crooked House, and the Punch Bowl Inn.
I met with local councillors @oliverhcooper, Philip Hearn, and Ciaran Reed on Friday to discuss this issue and the next steps for ensuring Chorleywood’s heritage is protected. We must safeguard our historic buildings for future generations.
