Last Friday I met with the Environment Agency to discuss the health of our rivers, flooding concerns, and how we can better protect our waterways in South West Hertfordshire.
They carried out over 4,000 inspections last year and are aiming for 10,000 this year, a promising sign of increased oversight.
With summer approaching, drought risks are a concern, but I was reassured that groundwater levels remain healthy for now. I’ll continue engaging with the Environment Agency as they launch their new strategy in the coming months, ensuring our rivers and communities remain protected.
