Gagan Mohindra recently visited Tring on a joint visit with Nigel Gardner. Nigel is the new Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Berkhamsted and Harpenden. After the next General Election Tring will move from Gagan’s constituency (South West Hertfordshire) to the Berkhamsted and Harpenden constituency as a result of boundary changes.
As part of Gagan’s visit he and Nigel went to a number of locations in the town.
They began at Tring train station. Earlier that day it had been announced that the Government had finished its consultation on ticket offices remaining open. As a result of this consultation the Government asked train operators to withdraw proposals to close ticket offices in a significant number of train stations. This decision was motivated, in large part by accessibility considerations.
They also stopped in to the local Conservative Club to meet with Penny Hearn, a local councillor. Gagan took the opportunity to also discuss local issues with members of the club.
The visit ended at the Tring War Memorial. Both Gagan and Nigel were grateful for the opportunity to pay their respects to our war dead. This came at the beginning of the Remembrance period, leading up to Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.
