One of the lesser-known parts of Parliament are Select Committees, cross-party groups of MPs that scrutinise government policy and hold ministers to account.
This week I chaired the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee for our inquiry into the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill, questioning witnesses on Labour's plans to reform the leasehold system.
It's important work that helps ensure legislation is properly scrutinised before it becomes law.
